Practical Skills for Success

Do you want to:
-Improve your grades?
-Synthesize complex information and formulate persuasive arguments?
-Learn foundational library resources and research methods?
-Express yourself clearly and speak with confidence in public forums?
-Take your spoken and written English to the next level?

nikiology does it all:  English language and literature, writing and advanced conversation, PhD and thesis editing

You can email, phone or meet with me personally to discuss your needs and expectations; classes are conducted in my well-appointed home which is centrally located in the downtown university and CEGEP area of Montreal (only five minutes from Concordia’s Hall and Library buildings*).

What does “personal tutoring” really mean?  It means a commitment to each individual student’s learning needs, abilities, and to their future education goals.

Undergraduate, CEGEP and ESL Students:  Why is my system so different?

Focusing on each student’s school program, I tailor my classes directly to the student’s syllabus and homework requirements.

I teach indispensable research methods, how to maximize your use of online scholarly resources and your university library system (WorldCat, JSTOR, MyClues, REF Works, COLUMBO, etc).  Learn to create bibliographies and footnotes and avoid plagiarism, write clearly and effectively, and choose the right essay/paper topic.

Alongside helping with school assignments, I also give dynamic lecture classes to help students make vital connections by ensuring they have an enhanced sense of history and literature.  This makes everything they do more comprehensible, giving them the intellectual power necessary to raise grades and take their places at the head of the class.

I give students 24-hour access to me by email, so they can send me last-minute assignments to proofread and correct, receive suggestions for homework, and be directed to the optimal sources for accessing the latest, most relevant information.

I accept students 16 or older for all kinds of tutoring according to your specific needs.  Individual sessions can be booked Monday through Friday, though email contact can continue through the weekend and over school breaks.

The number of hours available are limited, so book in at your earliest convenience by using our Services page.  See our Contact page to email me for further details or if you’d like to set up a time to meet personally.  I take pride in raising grades and empowering students to excel; the student’s development is important to me and I will take the time to know students and communicate effectively for genuine results.
